Bakliwal Tutorial Cat Testimonials
"A poor teacher narrates, a good teacher just teaches but a great teacher inspires!". And inspiration is an under-statement as to what Gaurav sir is to me. He is a teacher, friend, psychologist and a mentor. Once i joined BT, the first thing i noticed was that unique style of teaching which clubbed knowledge, humor and still managed to make it so simple. Since then I'd an association with sir for 2 years and best things about his teaching was the shortcuts, tricks and tips that simplified seemingly hard looking problems and made them solvable within seconds(izzat hi nai rakhni aise problems ki) which is very important from CAT's point of view. Also the puzzles that he gave were so awesome(maai-baap sawaal) and so much fun to think on, and solutions when he explained with concepts were like 'pairo ke niche se zameen hil jati thi'.
As a mentor he helped even after the CAT and Interviews, when I'd confusion after CAT 2011 whether to join NITIE or IIT B, or wait for another year and try for IIM which was like a dream. And gaurav sir showed so much belief in me that it convinced me that i deserved better.
I tried again in CAT 2012 and was able to get into IIM L.
I would not only take back the classroom leanings at BT, but also a great friend for lifeTIME and a mentor.

I have been associated with Bakliwal Tutorials for 6 years now. It was the amazing amazing coaching I got in BT-IIT that helped me get into IIT-Bombay very easily and laid the foundations. Thus, for CAT, I didn't give a second thought in selecting BT-CAT. It was the most obvious right answer.Gaurav Sir guided me right from the start of the preparation regarding all aspects. The tricks and exclusive methods to solve problems taught in the class very simply were the most amazing ones one can ever come across. There is something about Gaurav Sir that makes the classroom much different than that of a simple Maths learning experience. The jokes he cracks, the presence of mind he carries, the way he answers questions are a treat to watch. There is never a single dull moment in the class, 8 continuous hours in his class and you don't even feel more than an hour has passed.
Just being with him adds significantly to your personality, to your lateral thinking, to the way you perceive things in life.
I have certainly become a much better human being after coming in touch with Sir. I have found my mentor, elder brother, friend, teacher in him and I pray to God that we always keep in touch.
Coming back to CAT experience, I got call from IIM-A for FPM programme in Production and Quantitative Methods, thanks to my QA percentile in CAT 2012, whose credit also goes to Gaurav Sir. After this, comes the most crucial stage, the interview. Having not given any interview before, it was only due to able guidance of Gaurav Sir that I was able to convert the call very easily. He took my mock interviews, gave feedback and very important tips for cracking the interview.
If you are in Pune and planning to go to give CAT, XAT etc., the biggest mistake you can do is not joining BT. Words cannot convey what I want to tell about BT.

Prior to joining Bakliwal Tutorials i was studying at some other 'famous' institute. After studying there for few months i realized that i was going nowhere. Thats when i decided to join Bakliwal Tutorials which totally changed my preparation scenario. Within first two trial lectures i was convinced that i was now in very very safe hands.
With Gaurav sir's unique teaching style and his personal attention my speed and quantitative aptitude increased considerably and soon i was catching up with the rest of the class.
After that came sir's legendary Workshop of 10 days which was followed by very useful tests which made me feel confident about my preparation. And Whenever i used to feel less confident he would turn to me and say that "i don't see any reason for you not being able to make it into top b-schools'.
Gaurav sir took my preparation altogether to a different level. He not only guided me on the entrance tests but also helped me prepare for my GD and PI. I made many friends while studying at Bakliwal tutorials who played a vital role in my success and are very close to me.
I have seen very few people of such high intelligence and integrity and Gaurav sir is one of them. He truly is like an elder brother to all the students of the Baklial Tutorials. Thank you Gaurav sir and BT.
Gaurav Sir is a very good teacher, he is a superb mentor, but more than that he is an outstanding friend to each and every one of us at BTI joined BT a couple of years back and the first thing that stuck me about Gaurav Sir was the way he simplified seemingly hard looking problems. The shortcuts, tricks and tips that he taught us not only helped us get the right answers but also helped them get quickly, a quality that is much needed for CAT. He guided us thru some of the most complex topics in Maths from Number Systems to P&C
However the highlight of his lectures, was the puzzles that he used to give us at the end of the class. I have come across some of the awesomest and mind-boggling concepts after solving his puzzles
I also got a lot of help from Gaurav Sir, post CAT while preparing for interviews. The mock GDs and interviews that he conducted not only helped me beef up my interview prep, but most importantly helped me understand and learn from my mistakes
My take back from BT, would not only be the classroom learning here at BT, but also a friend for life

When I'd joined BT, I was a couple of classes late, so before my first class, Gaurav sir called me early to teach me the fundae I'd need to catch up. That, I think, is the essence of what you can expect at BT. Individual attention to your acads and a faculty that's genuinely interested in making sure you are getting all you need to succeed in the exams.I've had a tremendous experience at BT. Right from the classes and Gaurav sir's methods which bring answers "seedha aapki godi mein" to the study sessions in the summer to the late night tests to the workshop, its been a wonderful year-and-a-little-more. Sir is available to help you with your doubts - whether relating to Math or to life in general - and after every conversation, you walk away just a little more pumped about acads than before.
One thing thatI think people will be hard-pressed to find in any other coaching class is the peer group and the freedom you get in the class. I made an amazing group of friends here, and all through the summer, we'd sit in class all day (and sometimes most of the night too) and study/joke/read/study/eat. Most of the people I met in class were all very dedicated to doing well in the exams and there was always a sense of purpose in the study sessions.
If you're seriously interested in giving the MBA exams, joining BT is probably one of the best starts you could make.

In one line, “the best teacher, a great mentor and a true friend for a lifetime!”After joining a well known coaching institute in Pune for a year and not being able to get into any top bschool was a huge disappointment for me in my final year of college. Now I realize what I was missing then. It was the teacher’s personal attention and guidance for his student. That for me has been the most important factor at BT.
Gaurav sir goes right to the basics during his initial classes. He helps you build a strong base with his deep knowledge of the subject. The vast plethora of puzzles that he has at his disposal helps rev up our rusted brains. The class tests and their in-depth analysis are also very helpful. After building a strong base, it’s time for the onslaught, the 10-day workshop in October. This workshop helps get you the 95+%. You will get a wonderful compilation of problems to solve during these 10 days. One big positive is that Sir actually gives us time to solve these problems and then later discusses the approaches taken by students. He loves getting a better innovative solution from the students. He makes learning interesting and fun! This makes him a great teacher.
Another important thing I need to say is that he a 24*7 helpline for his students. Be it for questions or just a morale boaster, he will be there for you always.
With ~97% in CAT 2012, I managed to convert only IMT. I was down and out. It was Gaurav sir who motivated me, believed that I could achieve much more and after persistence I finally did! I got ISB, XLRI, SP Jain and NMIMS calls this year 2013 and have converted ISB till date! I would like to thank you Sir for all that you have taught me throughout!

I still remember vividly my first class at Bakliwal Tutorials. It was a session on Vedic Mathematics and Gaurav Sir just did magic with numbers. He gave a few problems and then solved those using fantabulous techniques. I had made my decision to join the class. I had always thought that I am good at Mathematics but his lectures made me realise that I still need to learn so many things and more importantly time saving techniques for the game called CAT: A race against Time.

The puzzles he gives for solving in the class are also very important since they teach you to think in different ways and on retrospection these were the very foundation of Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning Sections. Here, Learning is truly fun, thanks to Gaurav Sir.

The intense workshops help immensely in application of techniques and boosting your confidence during the final stages of preparation.

Gaurav Sir always gave me the motivation and courage. At times when things go wrong one truly gets upset and with the uncertainty associated with CAT this effect becomes all the more severe. Gaurav Sir was the person who always made me see the glass half full. He always insisted on being optimistic. Just exchanging a few words with him, used to give me confidence and motivation. And there I was back to work with immense zeal to do even better.

Thank you Sir, for being there with us and giving a wonderful start to our dream careers.
Having made it to the Mecca of Management – IIM Ahmedabad, it is time to reiterate Gaurav Sir’s pivotal role in my success. He has been more than a teacher to me. He truly was the friend, philosopher and guide I could turn to at every stage. He motivated me through the highs and the lows of my preparation. I made it to my dream institute in my 3rd attempt and it was Gaurav Sir who kept egging me on to succeed all along.
Gaurav Sir has a unique teaching style and made even the toughest questions seem extremely simple. He has a bag-full of shortcut techniques for almost every topic. His revolutionary "Chota Parivar Sukhi Parivar" methods and many other innovative techniques really changed the way I approached questions. Gaurav sir is the best maths faculty you can ever find. After attending his sessions you will actually fall in love with the subject. There is never a dull moment in his class. He will crack jokes so fast that by the time you understand the last joke, the next one will be over . He has a really sharp brain...you'll know when you see him play chess blindfolded against multiple players simultaneously...he has even played against Vishwanathan Anand...he is a 99.99%tiler in CAT...need I say more!!!
The pedagogy followed is excellent. There are frequent tests but the most important factor - something that no other coaching class does is this : each and every test you take will be followed up with an in depth discussion of each and every question. Test taking strategies were a big take-away for me from these discussions. Another feature unique to BT is the strengthening of concepts through puzzles. Almost every lecture begins with a discussion of a challenging homework puzzle from the previous lecture. Tremendous amount of learning happens through these discussions. Also there are regular night-out sessions – where we solved tough questions into the wee hours of the morning and also had a lot of fun playing Mafia, DumbC etc. And how can I forget the workshops - once all the basic concepts have been covered in class, come the BT workshops. These are intensive problem solving sessions in which several hundreds of top quality questions are discussed. These workshops gave a tremendous boost to my confidence during the final stages of preparation.
I found his guidance during the interview and GD stages to be extremely valuable. I just worked on his ‘3Cs’ and after that all my interviews were a breeze. So, thanx a ton to BT and Gaurav Sir!
I joined Bakliwal Tutorials after getting the recommendation from many of my friends and am happy about the decision. Gaurav Sir made preparing for the MBA entrances very easy and fun. His jokes actually helped us remember the concepts much better.

The shortcuts he taught were VERY helpful.

The best part was however the 10 days workshop. All the concepts were cleared so thoroughly that they will stay with us forever.

The whole experience of being a part of Bakliwal Tutorials was wonderful.

"Nobody can separate my SLEEP(my dear GF) from me."That's what I used to think before joining BT. Gaurav sir was the major contributor in this break up.
We were trained for nearly 10 hours a day during workshops and even after having an excellent food I never felt sleepy(First time in my life). That's the magic gaurav sir creates. His teaching techniques creates an interest in a subject and you quite enjoy studying. And if you are enjoying what you are doing, you are bound to be successful.
Apart from his interesting teaching techniques he is always available 24*7 to help you out with your problems(not just CAT related). The wide range of sums that he covers in class gives you a confidence that 99 mark is not impossible. I admit
self-study matters a lot but apart from that you need a direction, guidance and support(unless you are super brilliant) which I found at BT.
For all my success, I thank GAURAV sir from the bottom of my heart. I really enjoyed my stay in BT.

Coming from a CAT 2010 experience of a abysmal 65%ile in quant and an overall 80%ile in CAT, I really did not know what to expect from Gaurav Sir in terms of improving my own performance. I was upset when I met him for the first time and he told me that my percentile was really low. But later I realized that he said that because he has high standards for everything. And you realise that when you attend his classes - right from the personal attention he gives to each student (a full analysis of their strengths and weaknesses is in his head, always) to the amount of effort he puts into preparing question papers that are CAT-standard each and every week. He will make sure you know what you are capable of. He will test you so hard and so thoroughly that the actual paper will be easy in comparison.

And trust me, when you see the actual paper on the computer screen in front of you, every cell in your body will say, "thank you Sir."

My tale was nothing short of a fairy-tale. From a 65%ile in quant, Sir helped me reach a 91%ile in CAT, which helped me reach an overall 95.71%ile.

Today, I have an admit to my dream college and undoubtedly, Gaurav Sir has been instrumental in that achievement. Thank you Sir, because I could not have done it without you. I pray and hope more and more lost souls like me can find a savior in you and your amazing teaching!

Thanks for everything, Sir!
So finally, I have decided to write a few words about Gaurav Sir...I am from Ranchi..I had quit my job only for CAT & came to Pune only to join Bakliwal Tutorials, after reading a few posts of Gaurav Sir in TestFunda and a few testimonials in this very website!!
Don't know why but when I was leaving for Pune, something inside me felt right..that I am going to the right place..and in the first few classes, I knew I had taken the right decision. It's hard to believe but I used to return home on his bike. Where will you find such a cool teacher? It used to be the scariest 15 minutes of my life..God knows how I am still alive!!! Hehe..On a serious note, he is the most jovial person you will ever come across. And his Maths is at par with the best in the business.. I have learnt most of my Number System & P&C concepts after joining BT. He knows how to get the best out of the students and his coffee questions during the regular classes certainly prompted us to think out of the box. It is the thought process that I developed here. We used to stay till 12 in the night during weekly tests. Trust me, U may miss 1 or 2 tests but never fail to attend the Discussion classes!! They offer a lot more than just ways to solve a problem.
The Workshops were the most gruelling 10 days of intense (CAT+3)level Maths that we solved. The toffees distributed in the Workshops also offer huge incentives to make you study harder. Every toffee is worth more than a trophy to us!
All I would say is that.. join BT with the confidence of having come to the right place. But don't leave everything to him to turn your fortunes around. Revise your class notes
everyday so that you don't lag behind the rest of the class.
And always remember..21st October is the most auspicious date in the calendar!! You will know why when you join BT..
Finally, I would like to whole-heartedly thank sir for helping me grow as a person during my preparations and having faith in my abilities. You will always hold a special place in my heart Sir!!!!!!!

The first interaction i had with Gaurav sir was when he had arranged an open session for all CAT aspirants at Symbiosis Auditorium. I decided to go and check out what it was all about, and i was really amazed at how he could teach so many people, and keep them captivated for so long. Many of his ex-students had come, and had praised him a lot. I obviously thought this was a sales pitch, but nevertheless i joined the classes, because i did like his teaching. Most of my interactions with him were intellectually stimulating, and i found he gave a lot of personal attention to each and every student. His teaching methods were of course innovative, and helped me a lot in CAT, but the frequent puzzles he gave, and also the puzzle competitions he conducted actually helped me to "open" my brain up, to think in a very different way, something that is necessary not only for CAT, but for a career in management as well. Gaurav sir constantly motivated me to perform better, and helped me out many times when i was really low on confidence. I remember a certain occasion when i had scored comparatively low percentiles in quant in mocks, and it was Gaurav sir who told me that i don't really need to worry about quant. Those words actually inspired me to perform much better, and the results are there for everyone to see. Gaurav sir treats you more like a friend than a student, and you can take his help for any matter, be it cricket, "mafia", career, and CAT of course. I am indeed indebted to Gaurav sir, and reaching here would not have been possible without Gaurav sir. Thank you sir. I mentioned about a sales pitch about his ex-students earlier. It has been two years since that event at Symbiosis, and i can confidently say that all that the ex-students said then, and all that has been written in these testimonials is cent percent true.

If i'v been able to understand maths, it is thanks to Gaurav Sir.Maths was a struggle, but the way sir taught, made it a lot more simpler and surprisingly, interesting too! He is a teacher who not only teaches you, but puts it across in a way that is easy for anyone to understand. He makes sure that the transmission of knowledge is optimum and that according to me, makes him the best teacher. And honestly, once you've learnt from him, no one seems better. He also is a great friend to each student which makes learning with him, fun. He is a Genius, a wonderful human being and also someone with a brilliant sense of humour.I consider myself lucky to have him as a teacher. Joining BT was a wonderful learning experience, not just as a student but also as a person.

Gaurav Bakliwal has a unique teaching style which makes learning easy, fun and most importantly, logical. Very often the difference between not getting a call and getting multiple calls is a good mentor. in my case, before i happened to know about Gaurav, though i was working very hard it was not showing in my performance. Though the hard work also pays, what is important is how u are taught and the mentoring that comes along with good pedagogy. That rare combination is what one can expect at Bakliwal Tutorials. My performance improved drastically after being mentored by Gaurav & Vaibhav. Kudos Gaurav keep up the good work

It was one year ago, almost to the day, that I was on the other side of this 'page' reading the experiences of ex-BT students. I had already made two attempts at the CAT with disappointing results and I had started to doubt my abilities. Curiously, it was Quant, my best subject at school, which was letting me down time and again. I realized that I was competing with people who aside from the talent, had good guidance, best resources and were putting in a lot of time and hardwork. So, I could not hope to make it purely on talent. I needed to work hard and I needed the best coaching. In my previous attempt I had joined a popular 'mass' coaching class only to realize that there I was just a part of the crowd. Nobody bothered if I missed a few classes or if I didn't score well on tests. What I wanted was more personal interaction and support. The name 'Bakliwal' had cropped up many a times in my discussions with CAT toppers especially when asked about the best faculty for Quant in Pune. On reading the testimonials on this page I was convinced that this was the place for me. At BT I found the kind of learning environment I was looking for. In Gaurav Sir I found not just a teacher but a friend, philosopher and guide. Its not just that he is an extremely intelligent person, he is also an excellent motivator and mentor. I still remember that after just the first class he took out time and told me that he was sure I would get IIM calls, which was extremely heartening for me. Its like he has a personal stake in your future which makes you work even harder. I have met several ex-students who still drop by BT to meet him, which speaks volumes about the kind of impact he has on his student's lives. His jovial nature, witty one liners and deadly PJ's add to his endearing personality. As a teacher, he helped me realize where I was going wrong earlier and changed my approach to problem solving. With his endless repertoire of short cuts, logical puzzles, conceptual questions and problem solving techniques like "Chhota Parivar Sukhi Parivar" he helped improve my understanding and appreciation of Mathematics as a subject. His 10 day intensive workshop provides the ideal value-add to the last leg of preparation and is a must for any serious CAT aspirant. Besides, it gives you the opportunity to win lots of hard earned chocolates. With its well-stocked library of reference books and test papers BT became a second home for me over the past year. It truly takes a great teacher to turn potential in to performance and due to my time at BT I was able to increase my quant percentile form 75%ile to 99.77%ile in CAT with an overall 99.56%ile. I owe all my calls to Gaurav Sir and I will be forever indebted to him for teaching me a lot of lessons, in Maths and in life.

I started my career by joining TechM,Pune in 2007, and as any other CAT aspirant I started searching for the formulae for success. I met many successful toppers of CAT and asked them numerous questions from which I could derive that formula for success. To my surprise, I got even more confused because every success story was different. Garry Kasparov once said "The method for success is secret because it can only be discovered by analysing our own decisions." I even took classes at IMS/TIME, and I realized that teachers there were least bothered about “you” and there was a lack of personal interactions. It didn’t take much time for me to understand that this pedagogy would not take me anywhere. Meanwhile, I met Gaurav Sir and joined BT. Suddenly, I found myself in a different orbit. Gaurav Sir has totally different approach of teaching. Like “Jaisi urmila waisa formula". I am still sure that he understands me better than me when it comes to CAT preparation. He will make you realize your own strengths and your weak areas. He spent hours and hours with you on small concepts. We learned that studying maths could be so much fun. His witty jokes and weird PJs will kill you. His ”ek lakh ke fundae” really worth more. He is a great mentor and he instilled in me immense motivation and self-confidence, and to put that on numbers. My maths score in XAT went from 81 %ile to 99.97 %ile, and 99.6 % in CAT. Scoring so high in 1 section will give you a lead in overall score as well. The best part I always cherish is the journey of CAT preparation. BT organized numerous night long sessions, which were powered with amazing LR puzzles, and mind boggling quant questions and the discussions would end up at 4 AM with poha and chai at nal stop. The time spent at BT and with Gaurav sir is unparalleled. We formed a study group at BT and even Gaurav sir used to join us in mocks. He will challenge you upfront, where he would score 2 times the sum of our marks, but the most useful thing was that he will explain you how he approached the questions, his thought process and even how we should go forward in bridging that gap between us and him. I find no words to thank Gaurav Sir for the better change he has brought in me. I would suggest any serious CAT-taker to get their formulas of success right. BT, I found was the only place that helped me in doing so. Do meet Gaurav Sir and you will be enthralled by his positive attitude and energy. All the Best and Happy CAT-writing!

What makes a good teacher? Being one of either learned, caring, enthusiastic, concerned and academically gifted. What makes a great teacher? Probably more than one of the above mentioned characteristics. Gaurav Sir, manages to be the best simply because he is all of the above and some more. Actually, lots more. A fusion of exceptional talent, wit and charm, he is by far the best teacher most of us have studied under simply because he is not just a teacher. He extends to us his immense wisdom and guidance like an elder sibling would; and care and concern like a parent would. I've all been through many 'teachers' but there is no doubt in my mind who the best one among them has been. And by some distance. If all the teachers would be like him, there would be a serious shortage of back-benchers. Sir, I wish you the best from the bottom of my heart for all your future endeavours. I will always treasure the memories I have of BT, thanks to you.

In 2007 when I first met him, he was the only one ‘believably’ promising personal attention and lots of support. True to his word, that is exactly what we all got and even more. His strengths are his delivery, clarity of concepts and above all the personal touch. It becomes impossible to even bat an eyelid in his power packed classes, full of interestingly crafted case studies and puzzles. His classes gave me the ability to believe in my capabilities and skills. It helped me to think clear and to set my goals high. The workshop which culminates the fast paced year is one of the to-dos at BT without which the whole preparation experience ceases to be complete. Just one year of association with Gaurav Sir helped me to consistently prepare in future and I am proud to have made it to the 2012 class of the ‘Indian School of Business’ with no other guidance and alongside my job. Cheers to Bakliwal Tutorials and all the best to all future aspirants.

Dear Gaurav Sir, I still remember that first article which my father had shown me when I was thinking about which CAT classes to join. I was in my 2nd year of engineering that time. It was an article about Bakliwal Tutorials in Education Times, it said that you sometimes work through the whole night solving model CAT papers with BT students and clearing their doubts. Ever since then I wanted to join BT. When I returned back to my college in Vellore, I called up the number given in the newspaper. I was expecting a receptionist to pick up the call, and was pleasantly surprised to learn that you handle all the calls personally. I explained you my situation, that I was studying in Vellore and will come to Pune only in my summer holidays, you were considerate and flexible. You assured me that you would complete my course in the 2 months. A couple of days after I came to Pune, I came and joined your classes. The first week of my classes, you were attending the National Chess Championship at Lonavla. All BT students were so happy when we came to know that you had won the tournament. But still in the back of my mind, I was thinking whether you would divide your time between pursuing chess as a career and teaching BT students. All my fears were put to rest, when you started teaching. Sir the learning experience was great at Bakliwal Tutorials. Firstly, there were not more than 12 students in each class. You knew each one of us by name, I felt really good as you made an effort to know each of your students. And you treated all of us equally, if a student was not from the traditional math stream, you would never belittle them. Instead you whole heartedly appreciated every progress shown by them. When I joined BT, I was good at Math, but I did not have good speed and more than that I did not have the confidence. At BT, you cleared every doubt and boosted our confidence. When one of us got a problem right, you would acknowledge and appreciate that. That gave us the confidence to crack the next problem. Sir at Bakliwal Tutorial I learnt so much more than Math. I learnt that we need not be serious and grumpy when we are preparing for an entrance exam. I learnt that being optimistic and having a positive attitude can solve half the problem. You also treated us like family, telling us your past experiences, your successes, your dreams, I really felt I was in a family. Sir your jokes helped a lot in lightning the atmosphere and cheering us up, when some of us were doubtful about our future. Sir I am pleased to inform you that I got placed in Schneider Electric, Bangalore. Schneider Electric is a France based MNC with the sales turnover of 17142 million Euro (Rs 160875 crores) and their profit is 2450 million Euro (Rs 15190 crores). They are having operations in 106 countries with 125000 employee workforce. It also gives me immense pleasure to inform you that I scored 1480/1600 in GRE Quantitative 800/800 Verbal 680/800 Analytical Writing 4.5/6.0 Last month I have appeared for TOEFL and scored 112/120 Reading 30/30 Listening 30/30 Speaking 24/30 Writing 28/30 My GCPA till 6th semester in my Engineering is 9.02/10 BT classes helped me a lot in doing well in the Quant section. Right now I am at a crucial juncture in my life and tomorrow whether or not I clear the CAT, BT’s lessons will help me for a lifetime. As I take the next step in life and for every step in life, I seek your blessings. Yours truly, Gayathri Balan PS: one of the lucky few to have experienced the BT effect.

Hi..I recently cleared Chartered Accountant (CA) Final examination. Now you all will wonder that how a CA student in BT?? That's because of Gaurav Sir. Actually my library timings were till 9PM & staying at flat with my friends I found it impossible to study at our flat. But when I approached Gaurav Sir for seeking his permission to study in the class during night time, the reply I got was just Unbelievable.. He said-'If you want to study sincerely, my classroom is always open for students, just have the keys'. Such an answer boosted up my morale to study even more hard. Till all my three months study at BT classroom everyday I kept on thinking that how come a man who don't even know me well, allow me to use his classroom without caring for the classroom belongings. Hats off to GAURAV SIR. I think I can't forget these moments throughout my personal or professional life.

I joined BT after having coached with IMS for a year. And I knew that there was something amiss in my preparation, but I couldn't identify what. The moment I sat for the first class at BT, I realized that the personal touch that is required to excel is absent from all the bigger coaching institutes. Gaurav Sir's enthusiasm, passion and of course his legendary sense of humor made classes both fun and effective. Imagine sitting for an 8-10 hour quant session and still coming out fresh as a daisy! The amount of hard work Gaurav Sir puts in to each one of his pupil is very infectious and spurs you on to give in that extra bit. And like they say, the extra bit takes you the extra mile. The topper’s batch (if you make it into one) is another aspect of BT which is of immense value-add. Sitting among the best brains tends to bring out the best in you too and you strive that much harder and eventually reach the top of your game. All in all, BT is an awesome place to coach for CAT and other exams. It definitely turned out to be one of the best choices I ever made!

I must say that Bakliwal tutorials is among the premier coaching institute for CAT prepration. The rendering and lighting quality along with the number of books available in library is exceptionally good. I was really stunned by the teaching approach of all the faculties specially Mr. Gaurav. On top of the quality of education they provide while prepration they also offer innovative kind of learning approach and amazing environment of studies. I would like to thank all the Bakliwal team.

I was on my way to join IMS in 2003 when just out of curiosity I decided to check out Career Launcher before depositing the fee at IMS. There I met Gaurav sir for the first time and by the time our meeting ended I was 100% sure not to join IMS anymore. I was awestruck by his passion, enthusiasm, friendliness, energy and many other qualities. One meeting made me believe that this is where I want to be and this is the man I would want as my mentor. Believe you me, that has till date been the best decision I've ever made in my life. You can very well judge the teaching abilities of the man by reading the other testimonials but the greatest quality that I admire abt GB is his ability to make an average performer perform far above his potential. His passion & energy is infectious and will catch you surely. His belief in you would make you brim with self confidence. His motivational and inspiring pep talks would make you rise like phoenix from the ashes in your bad days. All in all, in this world of Marketing blitzkrieg you would find someone with a Human element. Whatever little I have achieved today is purely dedicated to my inspirational mentor Gaurav sir. I feel proud to be associated with BT and sincerely suggest every CAT aspirant to walk in to the BT centre to experience the same thrill. Trust me, you would not want to go anywhere once you meet this Genius !!

The BT classes train you to adopt the right methodology to attack problems. Ya we can solve it by multiple ways, but speed is of essence, and who better than Gaurav sir to teach you the shortcuts, which reduce the time to solve by astonishing levels. For CAT, speed is necessary but not sufficient. The BT classes impart the right balance of temperament and attitude and that's where BT scores, and scores really BIG! The second leg of the gruelling journey begins with those seemingly painful 'why mba' questions. Instead of elaborating, let me just say that the BT sessions on GD/PI impart as much knowledge as self confidence. Basically, the bottomline is that BT is the best! The BT experience is still etched in my memory. Thank you Gaurav Sir! Youve been an inspiration.

I have known Gaurav Sir even before the foundation of BT was laid; and was amongst the fortunate few to be part of the 1st batch of BT. The sheer energy and enthusiasm with which Gaurav starts his interaction, attracts you like a magnet. Before meeting Gaurav sir I had attended CAT coaching at one of the leading institutes in Pune and I starter that MBA was not my cup of tea and was about to quit. But after I met Gaurav sir the scenario changed completely. The best part of his teaching is the simplicity & his belief that each of his students is 100% capable to making it through to the CAT…. Words cannot describe the persona of Gaurav Sir; one needs to meet him to be able to appreciate what I have to say… I remember an instance when I was not able to meet Gaurav sir during the normal class hours for solving my difficulties due to my job; and Gaurav sir specially came to class at 7.00 am in the morning to help me solve them… Mind you, people mistake Gaurav Sir to be excellent at teaching quant only; but I must say the mock interviews with Gaurav Sir will give you more insights into your own personality than anything else.. The basics (academic and professional) that I learnt from Gaurav sir still continue to help in both my professional and personal life…..

First and foremost, I would like to thank Gaurav Sir for instilling self belief in me, when I was down and out and did not know how to bell the CAT. I was among the lucky few who were a part of the inaugural batch of BT and also had the opportunity of making small contributions in setting up the foundation of a premier coaching institute – Bakliwal Tutorials. I would be lying to you if I say that I was not tempted to join already established CF, CL, Time and IMS ahead of BT. I did attend few lectures in one of the established institutes, but the pace of sessions and lack of personal attention baffled me to the point that I developed a sense of incompetence. Just three months before the CAT, one of my friends introduced me to Gaurav Sir at a trial class. I was so impressed by his simplified teaching that I enrolled for the crash course and scored overall 89 percentile and above 95 percentile in Quants and DI. Based on my progress made in the few months, I had the courage to drop final call from couple of B-Schools ranked in top 20. I wrote CAT next year and scored 96 percentile. My writing this testimonial even after 4 years I left the institute is itself a testimony of the strong bond that I share with Gaurav Sir.

Studying at BT was a great learning experience for me. The “Great Great” shortcut methods introduced by Gaurav Sir were just amazing. Just imagine – a target of solving any question in less than 5 seconds! Doesn’t that motivate you to just go and crack the CAT?? The teaching approach taken at BT doesn’t just prepare you to handle any kind of situation in CAT but also keeps you motivated throughout the preparation phase bringing the best in you, just when required. I firmly believe that no institute can match the level of enthusiasm and focus towards CAT that one gets at BT. so just go and get it!

When I began my journey towards achieving an MBA 3 years ago, the most important thing that made me choose BT over the CFs,IMSs and the likes , was the promise of the best classroom teaching in town and a study-oriented atmosphere in the class, alongwith loads of fun....and it was a promise duly kept. Learning Quant was never so much fun, as Gaurav sir went about teaching one of the most dreaded subjects, in his own style, making even the weakest of the students understand the most difficult concepts, while teaching the students the shortcuts and other important methods to attempt the right questions , in the correct way. Having known quite a few Quant profs, I can say without a doubt that Gaurav sir is definitely one of the best Quant teachers in town. In addition to Gaurav sir's teaching, another high point of BT is a dedicated peer group and helpful attitude of the 'seniors', whose importance can never be over-estimated. In the end, I would like to say that in Gaurav sir, you will find not just a prof willing to help you solve Quant problems, but a friend, a philosopher and a guide, more than happy to help you, in any aspect of your life. Thank you Gaurav sir for always being beside me and believing in me. I hope many more students have the good luck of being taught by you...

Joining BT was a crucial turning point in my mission MBA. One Quant lecture with Gaurav Sir convinced me that I was in the right place. Gaurav Sir takes a totally new and refreshing take on teaching Quant. With shortcuts, puzzles and other interesting techniques, the tough quant concepts become kid's play in BT. But the thing that is unique to BT which makes it stand apart from the CFs and IMSes of the world is individual attention and mentoring from accomplished English faculty and Gaurav Sir himself. He takes care to solve any doubts and difficulties on an individual level, helping each student to cover his weak areas and build on his strengths . Personally, BT had become a second home for me during my prep, and another important factor that gave my prep a much needed edge was the last month mocks and analysis exercise with an excellent peer group. Last but not least-Gaurav sir's Unflinching confidence in me right from the day I joined was extremely inspiring and helped me achieve my dream.I thank BT and Gaurav Sir from the bottom of my heart.

Gaurav Bhaiya became my Gaurav Sir 3 years back. After completing my CAT preparation with a leading coaching institute in Jaipur, I was not pretty sure if I could crack the exam, so I moved to Pune and joined BT just 3 months before CAT (bunking college for 4 months at a stretch) because I knew it would be worth it. I thought I will be given special attention as I am his sister but I was so happily surprised to see the dedication and involvement of Gaurav bhaiya with each of his students. BT is a small family where informal sessions teach you a lot. BT is unique and Gaurav Sir is special as there can be no other who can make Quant so interesting. His sense of humour makes the lethal problems seem like a piece of cake which you would love to eat even if you had hated it till now. He gives a puzzle at the end of the class which keeps you thinking the whole day (lot of brainstorming happens there) and then he gives an easy solution to the puzzle which you had thought to be the trickiest. He very well explains the concepts followed by shortcuts which are a must in such time bound exams. The 8 day 8 hour workshop is an amazing exercise where the preparation of all the brains at BT gets together. He motivates his students by rewarding with chocolates for answering first and showing extracts from the movies (JJVS and Goal in my batch) just before D Day. I had a wonderful experience at BT with Gaurav bhaiya as my mentor and a group of brilliant students. So, I think for CAT aspirants, BT is the place to be.

Bakliwal Tutorials is not like those professional coaching classes which take in a no of students, blindly teach them and go back. Here every student is given a personal attention and every doubt is answered till we understand it. Gaurav sir's classes were always interesting...it was full of fun jokes and challenges.he takes so many puzzles and quizzes that makes maths a very interesting subject. i can blindly trust him for maths and DI.He is the best teacher i have ever studied under and a beautiful person i have ever met....Sir please be the way u are...!!!

I came in touch with Gaurav Sir just after CAT 2006 got over. I was stuck by the energy and uncomplicated approach of Gaurav Sir. I joined BT soon after and commenced my journey to join a good MBA college. That journey was completed when i joined the PGDM programme at IMT Ghaziabad. What i recall about BT is the informal atmosphere, the brain storming session and the 100% personal involvement of Gaurav Sir in each of his students. When i had joined BT, it was an upcoming institute and now after 4 years BT is one of the established players in quality MBA education and classroom teaching. It has a lot to do with the passion Gaurav Sir has about teaching and his exuberant personality. The classes used be fun with long bouts of intense learning interspersed with witty jokes. I met some of my best friends there who went on to IIM's, MDI, FMS and even to US to do their MBA's. Gaurav Sir is not a name - he is a persona. His students are in awe of his impromptu way of doing lectures. He creates an atmosphere of fun learning through puzzles, short cut funda's and a small group of very bright students. That led to healthy competition which extended well into wee hours of the morning. Gaurav Sir made sure to make himself available to each and every student. Then there are these workshops just before the CAT wherein it was 8 to 10 full days of just bombardment of theory, fundae and questions. I remember winning lots of perks (which you get if you answer first) every day! I always feel privileged to be a BT student and it has made a huge difference in my life.

BT was a turning point in my preparations to get into a B-school. Here you are not simply taught mathematics along the lines of standard questions and patterns; you are made to understand the concepts so that you are geared to tackle any problem and variation that might test you in the examination. This focus on knowledge and drive for excellence is something that sets the class and Gaurav Bakliwal apart for the multitude of coaching classes present across the country. Gaurav is a charismatic teacher who lends a distinct touch to the teaching process at BT. He inspires you, encourages you and at times even pushes you towards the goal. He believes that the responsibility of a teacher does not end with the classes in the classroom. Gaurav is always available to solve any doubts that the students might get. He also actively tries to identify the weaknesses in the students and helps the students overcome these weaknesses. Gaurav has a rich and varied experience in coaching students and he works very hard to use his learning’s for the benefit of the students. I truly enjoyed my journey towards a B-school which culminated at the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi and I am grateful to BT for having made it a success.

A close friend of mine, Gunjan Agarwal, now an alumnus of IIM-C introduced me to Bakliwal Sir in one early November workshop for CAT. Well, by that time I had already reached the fag end of my preparatory lap. Nevertheless, I gained a lot from the workshop. It gave me the required impetus to the final honing and boosted my confidence level. Gaurav Sir is well adept of the CAT pedagogy and when it comes to Quant and Analytical/ Puzzle oriented questions, he converts many a seemingly tough problem into a sitter. I discovered many ways to effortlessly and quickly arrive at answers which was not possible otherwise. Sir is sharp, quick witted, jovial, very much approachable and even makes his time to attend quiz programs in the city. I saw him last at the Brand Equity Quiz where he had many an answer to Derek O’ Brien’s vollies. I like him..

BT is a class where more importance is given to puzzle solving, lateral thinking and thinking out of the box. Gaurav sir is probably the only teacher in the country who teach maths with such ease and after class join us for a cup of coffee. He has bought an entire new meaning to the term "TEACHER" who is more of a friend to his students. His techniques in solving tough maths questions can baffle the best of minds. When you have a 99.99%ile teacher teaching you, its hard not to understand in his class. Also, one amazing habit of sir is to call student by his/her name. The importance and attention given to each student is of the highest order. I have personally been benefited tremendously by Gaurav sir's techniques and am forever debted to him for my good performance in various examinations. BT is not the commercial classroom coaching, it is a second home where students spend entire nights learning new concepts in the company of SIR. Thank you very much BT.

I can say all these with firm conviction as he has always been there for me and all my companions. Yes, He is Gaurav sir; whose passion for teaching and role as a mentor are unmatchable. BT is a place which ensures that it not only equips you with the required training and skills but also makes you perform to the best of your abilities by keeping you focused all year around. I joined BT about 2 years back after having undergone the whole ‘coaching’ experience in one of the larger and more popular institutes. Needless to say there was a world of difference and it was evident from day 1. Gaurav Sir’s teaching style is truly unique –high on content, high on knowledge, high on energy. His classes are thoroughly enjoyable and before you know it you have mastered some of the most tricky concepts. If you are worried about making the cut in quant – BT is the place to go to. Coming from someone who suffers from intense Math phobia you can totally trust me on this. The short cuts and tricks he teaches are most valuable and helpful for an exam like CAT. What strikes me the most is his involvement with students and deep commitment towards them. He is one person who genuinely cares for his students and is there for them whenever and wherever they need him.

Its a lot of fun learning at BT. Gaurav sir makes the sessions fun-filled with his jokes and loads of stories. The shortcuts that he teaches are also amazing. The puzzles taken at the end of class promote logical and out-of-the-box thinking. The best part of BT is that sir is ready to help the students anytime, on any topic, trivial though it may be. To sum it up, BT rocks!!

Having known Gaurav sir for over 4 years now, I can vouch for his passion about his work. Be rest assured that you are in the best hands. Anyone can make a horse run in the race but it requires great amount of dedication , motivation and hardwork to turn a donkey into a horse and then make him run and win the race. I say this from my personal experience, as when I joined him I was an average student but his effective pedagogy skills and his abililty to generate excitement and interest in the subject enabled me to get where I am today. Getting low mock scores is a sure thing for each and every CAT aspirant but that is the time when his oozing energy will lift your spirits and his guidance will bring you back on track. I have played CRICKET with him at 5 in the morning, have discussed puzzles with him at 3 in the night, have gone to eat POHA & UPMA with him at 4 in the morning and played carrom with him at 2 in the night. He is a master at shortcuts and his workshops are still etched in the memories of everyone. The workshops are one of its kind that satisfies the challenging quotient of the savants (very knowledgeable people) and leaves the others longing for more. As a matter of fact there were two direct questions from his classroom teaching in CAT 2008.If CAT is your game , HE is your name. With all honesty and sincerity …………. THANK YOU SIR

Gaurav Sir has a bagfull of shortcut techniques for almost every topic. His revolutionary "CHOTA PARIVAR SUKHI PARIVAR" methods and many other innovative techniques will really change the way you approach questions. Gaurav sir is the best maths faculty you can ever find. After attending his sessions you will actually fall in love with the subject. The lectures are conducted in a very playful and jovial manner...there is never a dull moment. He has a really sharp brain...you'll know when you see him play chess blindfolded against multiple players at the same time...He has even played against Vishwanathan Anand...He was a 99.99%tiler in Quant, CAT 2008...need I say more!!! There are frequent tests but the most important factor - something that no other coaching class does is this - each and every test you take will be followed up with an in depth discussion of each and every question. Another feature unique to BT is the strengthening of concepts through puzzles. Almost every lecture begins with a discussion of a challenging homework puzzle from the previous lecture. Tremendous amount of learning happens through these discussions. Also there are regular nightout sessions...which involve solving quality test papers, puzzles etc. And how can I forget the workshops - once all the basic concepts have been covered in class, come the BT workshops...These are intensive problem solving sessions in which several hundreds of top quality questions are discussed. Bakliwal Tutorial is a mix bag. It offers a personal touch to everything with a ting of professionalism. The truly effective teaching methodology adopted here is truly pioneered by the faculty. I received all the support in every possible domains of my student career with BT. Every student has to work on his own but it is the environment that makes the difference. Here, the kind of atmosphere helped me to grow as a student as well as a human. Thank you BT.

BT is probably the only class in town that will make maths phobic people like me get over their phobia and start enjoying the subject. Gaurav Sir has the ability to help students appreciate and master the subject which helps us students to approach the subject in a very easy, lucid manner.
